FRAMING

We offer a complete bespoke framing service tailored to suit your needs. All framing materials that we use are of the highest standard and are acid free. This means that no chemicals are present in the materials that could discolour the image being framed. For more information e-mail us telephone or fax us on the numbers above.

LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

Original prints are not reproductions. They are original works of art, conceived and created by an artist who is deliberately using a chosen medium to create an effect which could not be achieved in any other way. As such they have a vitality and clarity which reproduction can seldom achieve. The main processes are etching, lithography and screenprinting.

Your limited edition print is a investment and the following guidelines will ensure it remains in good condition.

Do not store limited edition prints for a long period unframed. Framing your print will conserve it in the long term.

We wrap every print in acid free tissue, and advise that it should remain in the tissue until you choose to have it framed.

When framing we ensure that acid free mount board, tape and backing paper is used. Contact with acid materials will produce a staining on your print after several years.

We ensure that the print is mounted away from the glass to prevent changes in temperature from effecting it. This can be achieved by window mounting or box framing.

Never cut the paper to fit into the frame. Most artists use a standard paper size for each edition and by cutting the paper you will effect the value of the print.

Seen a picture in the Rostra Gallery you'd love to own but not sure if it will fit in the space you have in mind?

Maybe you can't visualise how it will go with the rest of your room or perhaps you want to see if the frame sits well with the framing of your other pictures?

Any framed painting or print over £250 is eligible for our Try Before You Buy scheme. With your payment details taken as security the artwork is yours to live with for a couple of days. To find out more please ask a member of staff.
