British Art Portfolio
Be inspired by British contemporary art and begin your art collection with original silkscreen prints by Brad Faine, Brendan Neiland, Sir Peter Blake, Sir Terry Frost, Dan Baldwin, Bruce McClean and Barry Reigate.
This September at Rostra & Rooksmoor Galleries we are excited to display work by an impressive group of emerging, internationally recognised and established British artists. Printmaking has proved its status over the past 500 years as an art form not only rich in complexity and colour but also as a medium with great investment potential.
Buying British contemporary art is on the up and for those who can’t resist the temptation to enjoy art at home while seeing values increase, limited edition original prints are a fantastic way to start. An original print can be an affordable opportunity to own work by a well known artist whose paintings can sell for thousands, especially with our interest free credit scheme.
With CCA Galleries and Coriander studios representing such artists as Sir Peter Blake, Dan Baldwin and Brad Faine our long standing relationship with them enables us to showcase highly collectable editions including rare pieces providing collectors and enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to spark a passion and even begin a portfolio. Coriander Studio is one of the UK's foremost print-makers and publishers, it has recently merged with CCA galleries (formerly Christie's Contemporary Art) to form a world-leader in making & publishing original limited edition prints with artists including Sir Peter Blake, Sir Terry Frost RA, Sandra Blow RA, Donald Hamilton-Fraser RA, John Hoyland RA, Barbara Rae CBE RA and Damian Hirst.

This Spring is our largest feature to date of silk-screening sensation Clare Halifax. With brand new work of London and Bristol just released this will be the show to choose your ideal City Break!
Clare Halifax makes large scale silkscreen prints of urban environments. Bath, Bristol, Oxford and London have all been depicted with her meticulous attention to architectural detail.
Michael Flanders is a local, self taught painter. His lack of formal training is no hindrance, however, as he captures Venice in oil paint as well as any of the great masters.

2nd APRIL - 21st APRIL 2011
Lillian Delevoryas and Lydia Corbett
LYDIA CORBETT (formerly SYLVETTE DAVID), Picasso’s muse in the ’50’s for his ‘Girl with a Ponytail’ series is a painter and ceramicist in her own right. Although widely known as a watercolourist, more recently she has turned to ceramics, which are characterized by the same spontaneity and joy that are her hallmark.
LILLIAN DELEVORYAS – a Greek-American artist living in England since 1970 has collaborated with Kaffe Fasett in the ‘70’s in forming the Weatherall Tapestry Studios in the Forest of Dean, as well as designing several fabric collections for Designers Guild in the ‘80’s, and her work has been exhibited widely on both sides of the Atlantic.
As neighbours in Devon for many years, their relationship was one of mutual respect. It was only last year that these two artists began to interact with an exchange of work– It started when Lydia chose a painting by Lillian, and Lillian chose one of Lydia’s pots. From there, the pots became the inspiration for a series of paintings, and soon Lydia began feeding several pots to Lillian, and the work expanded from there.

Glyn Macey's Great Britain
Rostra & Rooksmoor Galleries are delighted to exhibit a broad array of Glyn’s talents as a painter with work featuring his native Cornwall as well as scenes Bath/Bristol audiences will fondly recognise. Glyn has been travelling around Great Britain in a camper van capturing the varied aspects of our landscape and Bath has been one of his favourite locations!
Since Glyn turned professionally to painting his career has sky rocketed and his artwork is passionately collected. He first came to national attention on Channel 4’s Collectors Lot as a young artist to watch. They could not have been more right! As well as numerous solo exhibitions Glyn has been
working on major fundraising projects for the RNLI and National Trust and has again been the subject for television, this time Sky Arts.
