CHIMENE ROBERTS

Chimene graduated from Bath Spa University College in 1997 with a BA (hons) in Fine Art. In the final year of her degree she started exploring the possibilities of the screen print process and has been working in this medium ever since.

After graduating, Chimene went on to do a Printmaking Fellowship at BSUC in which she explored notions of 2D and 3D taking influence from architectural structures and urban images. In 2000 she joined Spike Island Printmakers in Bristol.

Chimene's work is primarily concerned with the manipulation of flat fields of colour and the creation of depth and space. For this collection, Chimene has chosen to focus on springtime blossoms, taking inspiration from her immediate environment and experimenting with her use of colour and style.

Since leaving college Chimene has exhibited her work at galleries, venues and fairs in London and the West Country including the East London Design Show, Bath Fringe Festival, the Affordable Art Fair, Bristol, Spike Island Opens and The Awning Project, Bristol.

She has recently produced a range of hand printed greetings cards and welcomes commissions.
