ANNA MARROW

Anna studied art in Bristol, specialising in printmaking. She loves to work with silkscreen because of the limitless variety of marks you can manipulate and make your own, from bold splashes of colour to delicate drawn lines, scraps of text to photographic images. Anna combines elements of drawing, text and collage to convey the excitement and confusion of a day in the city.

Her most recent works have focused on ideas about the accelerated pace of our lives, the random messages and commands we are bombarded with and the characters and creatures we encounter daily. "I relish the chaos and diversity of modern urban living and try to capture this in my prints."

Recent visits to Kuala Lumpur, Saigon and Singapore have added a different twist to her work. This new Jazz series pictures the energy, movement and passion of the musicians and gives the images a hint of fifties style, in keeping with the subject matter.
