MENDING BROKEN HEARTS PORTFOLIO
The Rostra and Rooksmoor Galleries are proud to support the British Heart Foundation’s “Mending Broken Hearts” appeal. This is one of the most important fundraising efforts ever undertaken by the British Heart Foundation. The first of two highly collectable portfolios published by CCA Galleries will be exhibited exclusively in Bath by Rostra and Rooksmoor Galleries, one of only 20 galleries in the country to have access to this extremely limited selection which includes prints by Sir Peter Blake RA, Donald Hamilton Fraser RA, Brendan Neiland, Storm Thorgerson (famous for his iconic Pink Floyd album covers), John Hoyland RA, Brad Faine, Barbara Rae CBE RA, and Bruce McLean. The appeal pioneered by the CCA Galleries and the British Heart Foundation is unique in that each artist has created at least one original themed piece specifically for the cause. The artists were given free-reign in what they produced as long as it was inspired by “mending broken hearts” consequently the portfolios range in ethos from sunny and heart-warming to dark and mysterious or witty and humorous, offering something to suit everyone. These artworks will not simply be sold to raise money, but will become icons for the Appeal when in reaches its public phase in 2011. The art produced will be used in a range of advertisement and merchandise, with the Royal Mail having already approved plans for a series of stamps featuring the imagery. With over half of the sales profits going to charity, this is a unique opportunity to invest in some truly collectable works of art while supporting a most worthwhile cause. Edition numbers for the portfolio are extremely low, with each gallery only being allocated two prints of each design, so early viewing is very highly recommended.
