HEIDI KONIG

Heidi was born and grew up in Germany but moved to Britain, after a year of travelling, in order to study art. She studied at Brighton University, achieving a first class degree. In 1996 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Printmaking at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art in London.

Heidi remains a keen traveller as well as an enthusiastic walker and feels that it is this immediate connection with the land that informs her artwork and gives it a greater depth. Known as an abstract artist, her work begins very definitely with a scene or feeling that she has experienced whilst in a landscape.

A successful and popular artist, Heidi has won many awards since graduating and her work is exhibited and collected across the globe. Most recently, Heidi has taken to painting on canvas for the more immediate results it can produce in comparison to etching which can be a painstaking development involving much forethought. We at Rostra and Rooksmoor Galleries are very proud to be able to exhibit her new paintings alongside her more well known limited edition prints.
