CLAIRE HEMINSLEY

Claire graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1982 with a Degree in Art & Design, specialising in embroidered and woven textiles.

Claire is currently developing a new body of work funded by the Scottish Arts Council - developing work that marries the use of digital technology with traditional textile techniques.

Since 1995, Claire has had a continuing commission with Woodmansterne Publications for the design of Christmas, Valentines and everyday greeting cards. She has designed cards for other publishers, worked as a freelance designer the theatre, film and music industries and has designed commissioned embroidery and clothes.

Claire has a broad spectrum of experience and knowledge in art and design. Some of her many clients include British Airways, the Royal Society of Architects Scotland, BBC Scotland and Capella Nova. Her work has been exhibited and sold across the world - Frankfurt, New York, California, London and Scotland. She has also taught at Dundee College and Glasgow School of art among others.
