ANTHONY DAWSON |

| Born in Scarborough, Yorkshire Anthony is a graduate of Nottingham University. His chosen medium in printmaking is etching which he then hand-colours with watercolour washes. He draws his inspiration from the coastal towns of East Anglia and from the landscape and domestic architecture of the Cotswold uplands. Anthony finds that these subjects are particularly suited to the etching techniques that he likes to use being full of interesting shapes and details. Anthony R Dawson has been a regular exhibitor at the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol; the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers at the Bankside Gallery, London and has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition also in London. Recent mixed exhibitions have included showing at the Pierrepont Gallery, Thoresbury Park, Newark, Thompson’s Gallery, Aldeburgh, John Davies’ Gallery, Stow-on-the-Wold and the City Gallery, London. He is represented in the collections of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and the Hereford City Museum and in private collections that span the Globe. In 1992 Anthony was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. |
