| After a long and distinguished career Dame Beryl Cook sadly passed away in May 2008. Her prints are now more sought after than ever. Beryl's images have been featured on Royal Mail stamps and her paintings have been included in the Peter Moores exhibition at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool. Her inimitable style and cast of characters has led to a hugely successful career spanning four decades. All very impressive for an artist who is entirely self taught and remains very modest and somewhat surprised by her success. "I don't know how my pictures happen, they just do. They exist, but for the life of me I can't explain them." |
