| Rick studied illustration at the University of the West of England before taking on a position as a cartoonist and Designer for an American company in the Cotswolds. With over 8 years in the industry he moved to Cornwall to concentrate on his love of painting. He now lives in the Cotswolds with his partner Susie where he works as an Artist and Illustrator. Working in Gouache, Acrylic and Oil Pastel, his work still has in illustrative feel and is influenced by nature, history, story telling and his children. ‘I paint rabbits, make stories, I want to create atmosphere with narrative. I use nostalgic memories of childhood emotion. I love history, the ancient landscape, folklore and mythology. My surroundings of the Cotswolds, Cornwall and my homeland of Wales a constant source of inspiration’. |
